Member Spotlight: Reginald Robinson

Our member spotlight is the newest President of the Eastern States region of the American Heart Association.
Dr. Reggie RobinsonReginald L. Robinson, MD, is a board-certified cardiologist at MedStar Washington Hospital Center. This week, he became President of the Board of Directors for the Eastern States region of the American Heart Association (AHA), a region spanning 13 states and Washington, DC. An ardent advocate for public health, health literacy and health equity, he speaks regularly to local organizations, schools, and churches to promote public health.  It is this dedication and outreach that earned him MSDC’s award recognizing outstanding public service to the community, the Dr. Charles H. Epps III Community Service Award, in 2014. He is also an ambassador for EmPOWERED to Serve, an AHA program that works with individuals and organizations to overcome barriers to health equity.     

An MSDC member since 2003, Dr. Robinson served on the MSDC Board of Directors from 2009 to 2015. He completed his residency in internal medicine at Temple University Hospital, where he ultimately became chief cardiology fellow.  He received his medical degree from Howard University College of Medicine.
