Update: DC Removes Delaware from Quarantine List August 28, 2020

Faced with new data, DC Health removed Delaware yesterday from the 14-day quarantine list after reviewing updated state metrics.
DC Health announced anyone traveling to the District from Delaware since Monday, or District residents who have stayed in Delaware, and show no COVID-19 symptoms, do not have to quarantine for 14 days.
On Monday, DC Health published its up-to-date list of states requiring a quarantine for individuals visiting from the states or residents who had traveled to the states. Delaware and local media noted Delaware's metrics actually may not have fit the ones DC Health uses to create the quarantine list. After a few days of discussions between the epidemiologists of the two states, the revision was made last night.
DC Health defines “high-risk areas” are locations where the seven (7)-day moving average daily new COVID-19 case rate is ten (10) or more per one hundred thousand (100,000) persons.Delaware's average was above 10% on Monday due to a large spike in new cases reported on one day two weeks ago. In reality, Delaware's average new case rate is closer to 4%.
An updated list will be published Tuesday, September 8.
