Howard University Opens Free COVID-19 Testing at Benning Road May 6, 2020

On Tuesday, Howard University Faculty Practice Plan began offering free COVID-19 testing in one of the District's most in-need areas.
The free testing will take place at the Unity Health clinic at 4414 Benning Road NE. Testing will be available on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 AM to 2 PM for the next three months. Residents can call a Howard hotline to schedule a test, and physicians will be available to examine patients with symptoms.
The testing site is supported with a grant from Bank of America.
According to the Howard University release:
The testing site is meant to eliminate the obstacles so more people can be tested in the community. African-American communities tend to suffer from higher incidents of hypertension, heart disease and diabetes. Such conditions are linked to the higher incidents of coronavirus that we've seen in African American communities.
