MSDC is again connecting physicians and medical students with the local lawmakers.

The second annual DC Council Visit Day brings attendings and trainees to DC Council offices (in-person and virtually) to advocate for good DC medicine. Last year, attendees heard directly about the new HORA revision bill before the rest of the medical community. With a busy Council session full of public health issues, this is a prime opportunity to shape health policy in the District.

The best part? The work is done in advance for you. MSDC arranges the appointments and details, and you show up and share your experiences. We will even do the prep work for you so you can prepare for the appointments in your own time.

Meetings will take place between 9:30 AM and 4:30 PM. Meetings will be both in-person and virtual, depending on the office and schedule. Attendees will be given talking points for 2-3 healthcare issues to discuss at the meeting, and MSDC staff will be on hand to present.

Registering for this event indicates your interest in participating. Three to four weeks prior to the event, you will receive a separate spreadsheet with meeting times, locations, and formats. You can then indicate which Councilmember meetings you would like to attend.

Share your stories and your experience with the DC Council, and make the practice of medicine better in DC.
