Presenter: Dr. Doris Brown

Dr. Doris Browne is the President/CEO, Browne and Associates, LLC, a health consulting company that provides comprehensive health and wellness programs to its clientele, a medical oncologist and the 118th President of the National Medical Association (NMA). In addition to being a physician executive, medical educator, and clinical practitioner, she authored a textbook and co-edited proceedings of consensus conferences, book chapters.

She published numerous articles in the medical field. Among her areas of specialty are cancer, women’s health, climate health and environmental justice, sickle cell, minority participation in clinical trials, HIV/AIDS, radiation casualty management, Covid-19, and community health education programs. Dr. Browne retired as a Colonel in the U.S. Army, Medical Corps and from NIH, National Cancer Institute. She was a Woodrow Wilson Public Policy Scholar (2007) at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars. Her education and training include Tougaloo College (BS), University of California at Los Angeles (MPH), and Georgetown University (M.D.) and a hematology-oncology fellowship (Walter Reed Army Medical Center). She is an avid collector of African American art and a member of numerous professional, civic, and social organizations, American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc, Rho Mu Omega Chapter, Trinity Episcopal Church, and the recipient of plentiful awards including the Minorities in Research Sciences’ award for Professional Achievement, NIH Merit Award and the 2018 Top Blacks in Healthcare award.
