HBR: Why So Many Women Physicians Are Quitting February 1, 2022

The Harvard Business Review published an article on January 19 looking at the increase (anecdotal and via small studies) in women physicians quitting practice. The authors of the article are three experts from Press Ganey, including two physicians.

The article notes that at the beginning of internships, male and female physicians show similar rates of depression, but female physicians start to show a marked increase in depression symptoms once practice begins. Press Ganey surveys show there is a marked between two genders in work alignment, resilience, and intent to stay.
