2006 Physician Compensation Survey and Member Assessment SurveyThis month, the Medical Society launched its 2005 Physician Compensation Survey, the second in a series of online member surveys scheduled for this year. Why You Should Participate The data collected by the Physician Compensation Survey will help you determine the competitiveness of your current compensation in relation to other medical society members and give you insight into the relationship of compensation to various productivity indicators. But, participation is critical. Data will be segmented by specialty and, as appropriate, will be broken down by (a) responsibility level (medical director and academic/teaching responsibilities), (b) years in practice, (c) practice size, and (d) employment type (for example, self-employed, partner/shareholder, etc.). Individual Data Will Not Be Accessible By Anyone! All responses will be confidential, so individual salaries will never be reported to anyone. All data is being collected and stored by Survey Research Associates, and medical society representatives will not have access to individual responses and data. It will be presented in aggregate form only. Register and Complete Member Profile First Before completing the survey, you must first complete a short Member Profile. Also, if it is your first time accessing the MSDC survey page, you will need to register (set up your user name and password). Details instructions are found at the top of the survey introduction page. 2005 Member Assessment Survey Still Available for Completion If you have not yet had the chance to complete the 2005 Member Assessment Survey—introduced earlier this year—there is still time. The information we receive via this survey will help the Medical Society assign resources for existing and future projects. Your input is very important to us. And, the more participation we get, the faster you will be able to access this valuable information. How to Begin? CLICK HERE to access the online survey page. From the survey page, you can complete the Member Profile, the Member Assessment Survey and the Physician Compensation Survey. Remember, you must register before completing the surveys (information on how to "Register" can be found at the top of the survey page. More Information on This Initiative... Benefits of the Multiple State Approach MSDC is one of several state medical societies that have joined together in this survey effort. We will be able to compare your input and satisfaction with physicians in other state medical societies. And you will be able to compare your own information with that of other physicians here and elsewhere – relating to reimbursement rates, practice costs/expenses, and physician compensation. Because of this multi-state approach, some of the questions may not apply to MSDC and the District of Columbia – on those questions please select “n/a” as your answer. The surveys provide for simple self-registration – you select your own username and password. Please complete (or update) your Member Profile first. You may then take any of the available surveys. We will be sharing with you information relating to the results of the surveys – and you will be able to directly access the data and run your own custom, dynamic reports relating to reimbursement, practice costs/expenses, and physician compensation. We will notify you once sufficient data is available. Once you start taking the surveys, you may return to the survey site to complete a particular module at any time. Your answers are confidential. If you have questions, comments, feedback, suggestions, or if you have any difficulty participating, please e-mail Jane Moncrief, moncrief@msdc.org or call her at 202-466-1800, ext. 114. Member Assessment Survey This is an internal look at MSDC, the Medical Society of the District of Columbia. It takes approximately ten minutes to complete. First, you must complete the Member Profile. The profile will take approximately five minutes. CLICK HERE to begin! Please watch for announcements relating to these surveys! |
