Special Olympics Needs Volunteers for Healthy Athletes MedFest Program

On March 7-11, 2007, the American Medical Student Association (AMSA) will hold its annual conference in Washington DC. AMSA has formed a strong relationship with the Special Olympics and hopes to mobilize AMSA members around the country to participate at local Special Olympics events. One such event will be the 3rd Annual AMSA/Special Olympics MedFest that will be held March 9 in Washington, DC.

AMSA and the Special Olympics are in need of local medical professionals who would be willing to donate their time and expertise. The MedFest event will run from 12:30 to 3:30 pm.

MedFest is a Special Olympics Healthy Athletes screening program that facilitates the required standard sports physical examination for current and prospective Special Olympics athletes.
