AMA Advocacy Conference Brings Physicians to DCAs part of the AMA National Advocacy Conference, hundreds of physicians and medical students from across the country gathered in Washington, DC on February 13 to learn about the political climate surrounding the country’s most urgent health care issues and to lobby the 110th Congress. Speakers included MSNBC anchor Chris Matthews, U.S. Sens. Richard Burr, R-NC, and Debbie Stabenow, D-MI, and U.S. Reps. Dave Camp, R-MI, and Frank Pallone, Jr., D-NJ. The speakers provided commentary on a variety of issues and answered questions from attendees. Physicians also participated in informational sessions on February 13 to brief them on key issues before meeting with individual lawmakers on February 14. |
