Founded in 1978, the District of Columbia Hospital Association is a non-profit organization with 18 member hospitals and over 65 Associate Members whose mission is: to represent and advocate for its member hospitals; to provide a forum for hospitals to work together to solve common problems and to achieve common goals; to help its members meet community health care needs; and to encourage health services research and education.

Rx4DC
Rx4DC. In June 2004, MSDC joined the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America--and a host of local and national health care organizations--as a partner of Rx4DC to help DC physicians help their uninsured and underinsured patients acquire free or discounted prescription drugs. Rx4DC is a single-point-of-entry for over 250 pharmaceutical company programs that offer free or discounted prescription drugs to persons who qualify. Over 1,200 different drugs are offered through the various programs. For all programs, a physician's prescription is required.
Information about DC-funded programs that provide drug coverage for indigent residents is being integrated into Rx4DC. These include the DC AIDS Drug Assistance Program, DC Healthcare Alliance, DC Healthy Families, Medicaid for Children 1-5, Medicaid for Children 8-18, Medicaid for Newborns and Pregnant Women, and DC Chip.
