Sexually Transmitted Diseases (Reporting them in DC)
The DC Division of Sexually Transmitted Disease Control reminds all health care providers that sexually transmitted disease (STD) reports should be submitted on surveillance report forms within 48 hours of diagnosis or the appearance of suspicious symptoms.
Communicable diseases that are also referenced as venereal diseases include: chancroid, lymphogranuloma venereum, chlamydia infections (including PID and perinatal), non-gonococcal urethritis, gonococcal infections, ophthalmia neonatorum, granuloma inguinale, syphilis (including congenital).
STD surveillance reports should be faxed to the DC Division at 202-727-4934 or 727-3345.
